Once installed in the pool, the Poolguard pool alarm cannot be deactivated; it remains in alarm ready mode at all times. It is tamper-proof, sounding an alarm if removed from the pool. To use your pool, simply switch the alarm to sleep mode by taking it out of the pool. The Poolguard pool alarm will automatically wake up and run a system test when put back in the pool.

The Poolguard pool alarm includes an in-house remote receiver with a 200 ft. range and a 12-volt power supply. The poolside alarm operates on a 9-volt battery (not included) with a battery life of approximately one year. A low battery indicator is audible at the poolside alarm as well as through the in-house remote receiver.

The new sensing technology reduces the likelihood of false alarms from wind, rain, or small objects like sticks or toys entering the water. Poolguard pool alarms have been thoroughly tested and meet ASTM standards. Avoid placing the Poolguard alarm too close to a return line to prevent interference.

NSF Certified to ASTM Standard F2208, the Poolguard alarm is made in the USA and features an in-house remote receiver with horns that are 85 decibels at 10 feet. It is battery-powered and designed to detect intrusions similar to that of a one-year-old child. This alarm can be used in pools up to 20 x 40 feet or 800 square feet in size.
